Okay first of all, if you haven’t seen Disney’s Luca yet, GO WATCH IT! It is an incredible, heartwarming, and inspiring movie. The entire movie is amazing, but there was a specific scene that really caught my eye. Take a look at it:
Silenzio Bruno. What a fantastic way to silence anxiety.
If you struggle with or experience anxiety, or if your nerves just get the best of you sometimes, finding a tool to help eliminate or decrease the severity of it could be greatly beneficial. There are many different types of tools you could use to help with anxiety, one of them being what is demonstrated so well in this movie.
Find a name for your anxiety. You can absolutely use the name “Bruno” from this movie. Whenever you feel anxious, nervous, self-doubt, or negative thoughts, simply say “silenzio Burno” or “silence insert name here” and be sure to mentally think about silencing the anxiety as you verbally tell it to. This tool is and can be very effective if you take it seriously. Telling your anxiety to be quiet feels so empowering, give it a try!
Throughout the movie, Luca gets less and less anxious and never fails to silence Mr. Bruno:
I know it’s just a cute and simple Disney movie, but it really packs a powerful punch. I highly urge you to use the tool of silencing your anxiety. Next time you feel anxious, say “silenzio Bruno” and observe yourself feeling better, calmer, and more empowered!
