I fully believe in allowing yourself the time to feel sad and depressed. It’s a necessary step in recovering and healing. I recently wrote a blog post about relatable sadness and depression quotes that outlines how it can feel good to feel sad sometimes. With that being said, there’s only so much wallowing one can take, and there comes a time when you just gotta take some steps to feel better.
Even though it sounds strange, being in a little depression bubble can feel warm and comfortable and safe. Even though it may not feel like a big deal to stay there, it’s not healthy to and it can lead to a much bigger downward spiral. I know it sounds like effort, and it will take a lot of effort, trust me I’ve been there, but when you’re done being sad, it’s time to stand up and work towards feeling better.
As I’ve mentioned in some previous posts, quotes have always been therapeutic to me. When I find a quote that I deeply relate to, it helps me. I feel more understood and hopeful. Quotes are just one tool to help you feel better, but there are many more tools out there. If you feel as though you need help and can’t seem to feel better on your own, there are resources out there. Use them!
